Researchers Found 30 New Species of Flies in Los Angeles

Researchers have found that around thirty new fly species have been confirmed in urban Los Angeles after they analyzed results of a thorough survey of the sprawling city’s environs. Researchers with the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County carried out the so-called Bio-scan project.

In order to conduct the survey researchers sought help from local residents who hosted insect traps in their backyards.
