Researchers find more teens, including women, are turning to suffocation to achieve suicide

Although specialists analyze that young men are three times more likely to commit suicide than women, the overall rate of teen suicide in the United States is on the rise. And to make this worse, vulnerable persons are turning to suffocation as a means of achieving suicide in the face of other methods.

A report published by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) indicates that between 1994 to 2012, suicide rate among women aged 10-24 years rose 2.7% to 3.2% per 100,000; and since 2007, suicide rates among both genders have climbed steadily.
