Researchers find ancient Mummified Bison in Siberia

Researchers have uncovered an ancient bison that was found in a mummified state in Siberia. According to the researchers, the bison existed 9,000 years ago and was an ancestor of the modern bison that are still thriving in Europe and North America.

The discovery of a steppe bison was first reported by the Yukagir tribe in northern Siberia. Arrangements were made to send the well-preserved bison to the Yakutian Academy of Sciences in Siberia and an autopsy was later performed there to gain insight into the creature.
