Researchers Discover Novel Species of Horned Dinosaur

Researchers at the Cleveland Museum of Natural History and the Royal Ontario Museum have come up with a new species of horned dinosaur. On analyzing fossils of the dinosaur, Mercuriceratops Gemini, researchers revealed that the dinosaur lived about 77 million years ago in the Late Cretaceous Period.

Fossil of the Mercuriceratops dinosaur was discovered for the first time in northern Montana in 2007 and was preserved in the Royal Ontario Museum. Another sample of the dinosaur fossil was found in southern Alberta, Canada's Dinosaur Park Formation in 2012.
