Researchers discover new hadrosaur with humongous nose

According to a statement from North Carolina State University, paleontologists at NC State and Brigham Young University have discovered a new hadrosaur from the Late Cretaceous Period with a very distinctive nasal profile. Named Rhinorex condrupus, the newly discovered dinosaur lived in what is now Utah about 75 million years ago.

Rhinorex, which literally means “King Nose,” was a plant-eater and a close relative of other Cretaceous hadrosaurs like Parasaurolophus and Edmontosaurus.
