Researchers Discover Genetic Markers That Give Birth to PTSD

An international group of medical researchers found genetic markers linked to Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Researchers analyzed blood samples of US soldiers before and after deployment for this purpose. They observed a group of biomarkers that control innate immune system and interferon signaling in body. The two conditions are directly associated to the development of PTSD. The study is printed in the Journal Molecular Psychiatry.
