A group of international researchers have developed a process of simulating natural photosynthesis. This artificial photosynthesis captures emitted carbon dioxide before it is absorbed by the atmosphere. Using solar energy the captured CO2 is converted into chemical products that are widely used today such as liquid fuels, pharmaceutical drugs, plastics that are biodegradable etc.

This has the added advantage of significantly reducing greenhouse effect on our planet.
