Research Out Of Utah Produces New Material That May Lead To Development Of Superfast Computers

University of Utah researchers have created a new material that has the potential to lead to new computers capable of processing at speeds significantly faster than current technology allows. The study, published in Proceedings of the national Academy of Science (PNAS), shows the new material acts as both an insulator and a conductor. It is made of a silicon semiconductor that is topped with metal.
