Reese Witherspoon is as wild and fabulous to behold as the rugged countryside her character traverses in “Wild,” based on the 2012 best-seller by Cheryl Strayed and a memoir of her mother’s death, its psychological toll on her and her subsequent purgative and redemptive solo hike on the Pacific Crest Trail from the Mojave Desert to the Canadian border.
