Every living organism has the inherent tendency to save its life during a calamity. A recent study on red fire ants confirms this fact as they form rafts to save themselves during waterlogging near their colonies.

The red fire ants (Solenopsis invicta) save their lives when the water level is rising by gripping onto their neighbours and forming rafts.
