Recall of frozen berries following hepatitis A scare prompts calls to buy local produce over imports

Poor hygiene among Chinese factory workers is believed behind an outbreak of hepatitis A in Australia linked to a brand of imported frozen berries, prompting a warning from farmers to buy local.

Authorities issued a national recall of 1kg bags of Nanna’s Frozen Mixed Berries after five Australians tested positive for hepatitis A after eating the fruit last week.
