Dr. Oz was grilled by Sen. Claire McCaskill during a hearing in June for making extravagant claims about products that were not backed up by evidence.

Just one third of the claims made on “The Doctor Oz Show” — whose star was recently scrutinized by Congress — can be backed up by even some medical evidence, and 40 percent of the TV doctor’s claims have no basis in fact at all, according to researchers.
