As the federal government introduces new and tougher standards in its five-star rating system, ratings of almost a third of Oklahoma's 308 nursing homes dropped on Friday. Ratings of ninety-three Oklahoma nursing homes dropped by at least one star, during the period under review. The rating improved for just seven state nursing homes. And the thirty-eight of Oklahoma's 308 nursing homes were able to maintain five-star rating.
The ratings are available at the website Medicare. gov, which were given by federal officials so as to help people assess the quality of nursing homes, which are taken into consideration by people.
