Rajnath’s house becomes point of anti-rape protests

Scores of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Congress-backed National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) workers were detained on Monday for protesting outside Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh’s residence. The protest was over the rape of a 27-year-old woman by a taxi driver on Friday night.

AAP activists reached Singh’s residence at Ashoka Road on Monday morning with placards criticising the Centre for its failure to check such incidents. Protesters were detained by police and taken to Parliament Street police station.
