Purdue researchers discover new moon crater

That’s what Purdue University researchers found hidden beneath the moon’s surface after closely analyzing NASA data, according to a study presented Monday at the Lunar and Planetary Science Conference in Houston, Texas.

Researchers provisionally named the 124-mile-wide crater Earhart, after the famous aviator who worked in Purdue’s Department of Aeronautics from 1935-1937.
