Puma codenamed as P-32 crosses two freeways for new home in Simi Hills

On Friday, researchers said that in a rare and significant move for the region's cougar community, a Southern California mountain lion known to the researchers as P-32 has struck out on his own and made a new home.

According to the National Park Service researchers, the 1-year-old male who lived in his family den in the Santa Monica Mountains has crossed two freeways, including the eight-lane US 101.
