Puget Sound welcomes newborn orca L120

The Center for Whale Research celebrates the birth a new member of the Southern Resident Community population, L pod. A new orca calf was delivered by a 23-year-old L86 which is named as L120. It is the second calf of L86.

Since 2012, the Center for Whale Research is hoping for a newborn for the Southern Resident Community as the numbers of whales decreased to 78. It has been the lowest count in more than a decade.
