Prolonged Fasting May be Good for Body

Researchers from the University of Southern California have found that occasionally skipping meals for two to four days allows the body to generate new immune cells. Using the fasting technique, humans and mice could attain a healthier immune system.

Researcher Valter Longo said if one mimics the fast diet of 750 to 1,050 calories per day for at least four to five days then also it is more than enough for the body to trigger a regenerative state. Longo believes that any fasting is better than nothing.
