Today, at the annual White House Science Fair, President Barack Obama announced a funding boost of $240 million towards the goal of encouraging students to pursue education and careers in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). Aside from generating interest in STEM among the younger population, the White House Science Fair is also focused on promoting diversity in these fields.
