Prescription drugs account for majority of opioid-related ER visits: study 

It's not usually heroin and other illegal substances — it's the drugs in your medicine cabinet that send people to the ER most, Stanford researchers say. The CDC calls prescription opioid overdoses an 'epidemic.'

The majority of opioid-related visits to hospital emergency rooms are due to prescription drugs, according to a new study in the journal JAMA Internal Medicine.
