Most parents would panic if they discovered that their teenager was experiencing suicidal thoughts. Sometimes teens disclose to a parent when they are feeling depressed or suicidal. Frequently, parents find out about suicidal thoughts indirectly by reading their teen's texts or Facebook posts or hearing about it from their teen's friends, teacher, doctor, or mental health provider.
