Nicole Petrosky dreams of traveling to the radiant red sand dunes and grassy green savannahs of Namibia, one of the most striking landscapes in southwestern Africa, where one of her favorite big cats, the cheetah, roams the region in high numbers. But like the endangered animal she so loves, her life is at risk.

At 35, Nicole is one of 101,056 people waiting for a kidney transplant. With a diagnosis of end-stage kidney disease, she tries to stay positive as she waits for a donor.
