Philae Lander’s reactivation is key to expand understanding of comet

The European Space Agency’s much ambitious Philae lander recently landed on comet 67P in November. The lander started using the in-built CIVA camera system to take the shots of comet surface. The system was designed to start taking images as soon as it lands.

It sent the initial images, including the one after its first bounce following touch-down, after which it bounced twice before making the final landing on the comet’s surface.
