Pence extends Scott Co. needle exchange program

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Indiana Gov. Mike Pence has extended a 30-day executive order allowing a needle exchange program in Scott County.

Scott County has struggled with an HIV outbreak tied to intravenous drug use. Although needle exchange programs are not legal in Indiana, Pence had originally signed the executive order allowing the program in Scott County because of the HIV problem there.
