Pelvic Bone plays Key Role in Reproduction of Whales

A new study has revealed that pelvic bone in Whales is useful in many ways, especially in reproduction. While pelvic bones might be unnecessary for swimming, they help whales and dolphins in supporting the reproduction process.

According to an assistant professor at the USC Dornsife College of Letters and study author, Matthew Dean, it was thought that if whales and dolphins had a few more million years of evolution, their pelvic bones would have vanished, but that's not true.
