Patients in China Turning to Black Market Due to Blood Supply Crisis

China is struggling with an unprecedented shortage of blood supply and the desperate patients are turning to the black market for acquiring the life-saving liquid. Reports say that there is a rising demand for transfusable blood in China and with inadequate hospital blood supplies the patients are purchasing blood from agents called “blood heads.” Blood heads are the people who sell donation certificates, providing access to state blood banks.
