MADRID – Spain's airport authority says Seville airport was closed for just over two hours after the pilot of a micro-light aircraft lost consciousness and a passenger crashed the plane during an attempted emergency landing.

AENA and the Spanish emergency services 112 said the pilot died, but it was unclear if that happened before or after the crash. The passenger was seriously injured in the crash, three kilometers short of the beginning of the runway.
