Parliament needs a panel to scrutinize anti-terror operations: Editorial

Unlike the U.S., Britain, France and other allies, Canada has no mechanism to let Parliament effectively scrutinize the activities of our powerful security services.

Canadians have been rattled by the terror attacks on Parliament Hill and in Quebec, and by those in France and Australia. More than a few will give Prime Minister Stephen Harper’s Conservative government a conditional pass on the sweeping new anti-terror laws it has just introduced.
