Palestinian hunger striker slips into unconsciousness after 60 days of a protest fast

JERUSALEM – The father of a Palestinian detainee who has been on a hunger strike for 60 days says his son has slipped into unconsciousness at an Israeli hospital.

Naser Allan says his son Mohammed Allan, who went on a hunger strike in May, lost consciousness on Friday. He says his son was imprisoned in the past for his affiliation with the Islamic Jihad, a Palestinian militant group.
