Pakistan reduces opposition to polio vaccines with imprisonment

Islamabad, Mar. 6 (EFE).- A region in Pakistan, severely affected by polio, considerably reduced the number of parents opposing oral vaccination for their children since it began imprisoning the parents who were against immunization.

The health department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, poliomyelitis epicenter of the world, had 47,000 cases of parents opposing vaccination for their children in January, while the number came down to 23,000 in February, local daily Dawn reported Friday.
