A former lawyer of the Pakistani man who helped the CIA find Osama bin Laden has been shot dead in the northwestern Pakistan city of Peshawar. Local police confirmed that unknown gunmen armed with Kalashnikovs opened fire on the lawyer Tuesday as he was returning home from work. The assailants managed to escape. Samiullah Afridi represented Dr. Shakil Afridi until the middle of last year when frequent death threats forced him to flee the country. He returned in late 2014 and disassociated himself from the trial. Dr. Afridi ran a fake hepatitis vaccination campaign on behalf of CIA that was designed to collect DNA samples from the compound where Bin Laden was eventually killed.
