Members of the Pakistani army, in a pre-dawn raid, have rescued the son of one of the country’s top judges after he was kidnapped by a Taliban-linked group last month.

Awais Shah was rescued early Tuesday as his captors were transporting him near Pakistan’s largely lawless region along the Afghanistan border. Members of the Pakistani army received a tip about Shah’s location and were able to secure him after a firefight with his captors.
