Oxytocin Nasal Spray lowers appetite and could be an easy weight control solution: Study

Oxytocin hormone based nasal spray has been found to reduce appetite among a small group of study subjects, leading to lower consumption of calorie with a single dose. The research team at Harvard Medical School in Boston found that a single use of oxytocin (Syntocinon) nasal spray can impact the calorie intake and could be an easy solution for weight loss. The study results were shared at the annual meeting of the Endocrine Society.

For the study, 25 men with an average age of 27 years were offered oxytocin nasal spray or a placebo. The group comprised of 13 men with normal weight and 12 men in overweight or obese category.
