Oxytocin could reduce appetite and help control weight: Study

Research team at Harvard Medical School, Boston has found that oxytocin hormone could lead to lower appetite and help reduce calorie intake. The results of the study published in the Endocrine Society journal have suggested that men consumed 122 fewer calories after they received a single dose of oxytocin hormone in a nasal spray.

Study lead author Elizabeth Lawson, assistant professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School, Boston informed that her team tested the nasal spray on a small group of 25 healthy men. 12 study participants were overweight or obese while 13 were with healthy weight.
