Organist retires after decades at Cedar Falls church

William McGuire recalls his wife, Esther, telling him that in the summer of 1970 as they drove past Nazareth Lutheran Church on one of their trips moving to Hudson from Sioux Falls.

McGuire became a substitute organist at the church after joining in 1971. He became the full-time organist and director of music in 1986 after having joined the church in 1971. Now, after nearly four decades, the well-known organist is stepping down.
