Oregon family to sue hospital for missing E. coli that killed girl, 4 

Little Serena Profitt, 4, died Monday at a Portland, Ore., days after a Lincoln City hospital did not test for E. coli or find the bacteria, despite the girl showing signs of serious illness. Her friend, Brad Sutton, 5, is fighting for his life after contracting E. coli at the same time.

The devastated family of a 4-year-old Oregon girl who died Monday after contracting E. coli plans to sue a hospital the family says failed to properly diagnose the illness.
