On Wednesday morning, Orbital Sciences‘ Cygnus spacecraft successfully berthed to the International Space Station. The spacecraft, which launched on Sunday evening, made its approach to the station at 3:00 am ET. The station’s robotic arm grappled Cygnus at 6:32 am as it flew just 32 feet away from the station. The entire berthing sequence was completed at 8:53 am.
This is the second successful cargo delivery out of eight total that Orbital will provide under its $1.9 billion contract with NASA.
