For Older Adults With Mobility Problems, Every Active Minute Counts - Modern Readers

A new study has brought to light evidence suggesting that for older adults with mobility problem, heart-attack and heart-related death risk can be reduced for each and every minute spent undertaking physical activity. Added this week to the Journal of the American Heart Association, the paper suggests that even the gentlest of exercise on a regular basis can have miraculous effects on the long-term heart health of those who face day-to-day mobility difficulties due to old age or poor health.

The study was carried out by a team from the Health Promotion Center at the University of Florida Institute on Aging and headed by Thomas W. Buford, PhD.
