The dashing French actor Louis Jourdan has died at his Beverly Hill home on Saturday. Aged 93-year-old. The Hollywood veteran worked in movies across Europe and the United States for more than five decades, most notably on the James Bond classic Octopussy and musical Gigi. His death was confirmed by his official biographer Olivier Minne.
The actor, who was famed for his quiet manner and mysterious performances, was born Louis Henri Gendre in Marseilles on June 19, 1921 before moving to Paris where he would attend drama school and was quickly picked up to star in his first movie Le Corsaire, directed by Marc Allegret.
