Protecting nurses, paramedics and others on the front line is the most important objective of Ebola planning. To date, Canada remains Ebola-free. Our chief task is to be prepared for a possible first case.

Ebola usually can’t be spread until the victim is very sick. This makes it easier to track cases and contacts using processes that the Middlesex-London Health Unit uses every day. Nigeria and Senegal recently proved this, becoming Ebola-free by implementing traditional public health measures.
