Oceans Important for Earth-like Planets to Support Life

Researchers have claimed that it is important to study the oceans for finding alien life in earth-like planets instead of only focusing on atmosphere of those planets.

For example, Mars is located at such a position that it is categorized under the category of habitable zone, but its temperature can reach 180 degrees within a single day. A computer simulation has showed that oceans are vital for regulating surface temperatures and stabilize climate.
