Obesity linked to higher cancer risk

People who are overweight or obese have an increased risk of developing ten of the most common cancers, new research from London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) has suggested.

The global obesity pandemic has sparked health warnings for many years and figures from the Global Burden of Disease study showed that 67 per cent of men and 57 per cent of women in the UK are either overweight or obese, making the UK the most obese country in western Europe.
