Obesity increases the chances to develop cancer by up to 62 percent, Study

Those who are overweight are more likely to develop ten common cancers by up to 62 percent, according to the study published in The Lancet medical journal.

“People are generally quite aware that being overweight increases the risk of diabetes and cardiovascular disease but they still don’t know about the important relationship to cancer,” said study leader Dr Krishnan Bhaskaran from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.
