Obesity can lead to colon cancer study shows

A new Swedish study shows that obesity can increase risk of having colon and rectal cancer in later life. The 35-year study includes 16-20 years old obese individuals and compared their risk of possibly having colon cancer to normal weight teens.

The study result shows that 63% of obese teenagers with inflammation suffers from colon cancer. Elizabeth Kantor of Harvard School of Public Health in Boston said this study is helpful in giving us a glimpse of the possible root causes of colon cancer.
