NSF Awarded $14.5M to NANO for gravitational waves

National Science Foundation, Funded $14.5m to NANO In 5 year period, NANO got funds for creating a physics center focusing on utilizing radio signals of pulsars by using GB telescope and Arecibo observatory to know about the low frequency gravitational waves.

Maura McLaughlin, Eberly distinguished professor of physics and astronomy at West Virginia University, will serve as co-director; Xavier Siemens, a physicist at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, is the principal investigator and was named director of the center.
