'The November Man' review

Starring Pierce Brosnan, Luke Bracey, Olga Kurylenko, Bill Smitrovich, and Will Patton, "The November Man" has most of the pieces to become a decent spy thriller, but falls short on multiple occasions. Playing like a cheaper, spinoff version of a James Bond flick (with less style, quality, and charm), this film features fair amounts of exciting action and suspense. Where it is lacking lies in the minimal character development and story background, a murky (at times incoherent) plot, and the overuse of various espionage clichés.

After Pierce Brosnan finished his stint in 2005 as the British spy James Bond, his production company opted to produce a different spy thriller based upon a volume from Bill Granger's book series, "The November Man." Almost ten years later, after several holdups and a shift in casting, filming began...
