North America’s Active Volcanoes studied using a Network of electrical Sensors

A report published today in the journal Nature is about the experiment whereby electrical sensors were being used to study molten rocks deep beneath some of North America's active volcanoes.

This electrical network is acting like a huge metal detector and has helped the researchers understand the proper process that brings magma from 50 miles below the surface to active volcanoes of Washington State's Mount Rainier.
