The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) team members have released three-dimensional sonar maps and images of a ship that was lost more than 100 years ago. The maps and images will provide an opportunity to public to know more about the ancient historic San Francisco shipwreck, the SS City of Rio de Janeiro.
According to historians, the steamship had hit the rocks near the Golden Gate Bridge in 1901. The accident had killed about 128 of the ship's passenger. Fishermen of that area had rescued about 82 survivors. As per reports, the victims were mostly Japanese and Chinese immigrants.
