No Social Security cost-of-living adjustment hurts retirees

The Social Security Administration announced there would be no cost-of-living adjustment next year due to low gasoline prices.

Gasoline is a small part of most people’s expenses. I made an analysis on our expenses and determined that electricity increased 47.4 percent and property taxes increased 18.4 percent. If I included food costs, the increases would even be more dramatic, probably by 20 percent.
