NM health officials worried about vaccine exemptions

SANTA FE — New Mexico vaccine exemptions are increasing among school-age children.

State law allows parents to request vaccination exemptions for their children based on medical need or religious beliefs. At least 3,335 exemptions were registered with the state Health Department’s immunization program in 2014. That’s an increase of nearly 500 since 2012.
